New Crossing Guard at Boyne PS
Great News! We have just learned that our new crossing guard will be starting tomorrow (Wednesday, September 10th) at the corner of Farmstead and Duignan.
You may have noticed a new crosswalk has been painted there and signs have been posted. This crosswalk is to be used by students and parents attending Boyne P.S. during drop off and pick up times. This crosswalk is a designated crossing area that allows pedestrians to safely cross the road where vehicles must stop for pedestrians.
Responsibilities at a pedestrian crossover
Pedestrians:
Indicate intention to cross
Wait for traffic to stop
Make eye contact to ensure driver sees you
Cyclists:
When riding with traffic, follow rules for drivers
When crossing, follow rules for pedestrians; dismount and walk your bike across
Drivers:
Be prepared to stop for pedestrians
Stop behind the yield line
Make eye contact so pedestrian sees you
Wait until pedestrian completely crosses road before proceeding
Do not pass another stopped vehicle
Additional parking has been added on the east side of Farmstead Drive from the a point starting just south of the houses opposite the school. Please ensure that you are parking in a legal location and use either the crosswalk or the lights to cross Farmstead.
As always we encourage our families to make a healthy choice and walk to and from school!

If your child will be absent up to 14 school days please record through School Messenger
If your child will be absent 15 school days or more please complete an Extended Absence Form and submit to the office. Click on the button blue button below.
Courtesy Seat Application for 2025-26
Each year, in accordance with HSTS Procedure HS-1-004 – Courtesy Seats, families with children who are not eligible for school bus transportation to and from school, may apply for a courtesy seat. This process closed on June 30th for the 2025-26 school year.

Police Checks
The Halton Regional Police Services' Information and Records Services Dept has requested that we share the attached letter about the police check online process with our families. Offence Declarations must be signed each year at the school to keep the police check up to date.
